A student leadership team has organised a lecture on September 15, which will include talks by two guest speakers and a program by Take a Stand Against Domestic Violence.
Student leader Christie White said domestic violence was a widespread problem that was often hidden.
She said students affected by violence could turn to the student counselling service and the chaplaincy service for help, in addition to other services in the wider community.
The event will take place from 5.15pm until 6.45pm in the Circular Lecture Theatre in the Engineering Building at the La Trobe Bendigo campus.
It is being sponsored by businesses DDS Group Bendigo, Bendigo Eagleboys Pizza, Bendigo Pioneers Football Club, Bob Jane T-Marts Bendigo and Steven Baker.
