THE Bendigo Hawks Swimming Club finished fourth overall at the recent Victorian Country Short Course Championships in Shepparton.

Competing with a team of 19 swimmers, the Hawks placed behind Traralgon, Geelong and Warrnambool in the team points score.
Individually, 20-year-old Kahlia Marsh continued her outstanding form with eight gold medals and two silver in open and age group events and scoring more points than any other swimmer at the meet.
Angus Verbeek, 15, won gold in the 100m backstroke, 200m individual medley and 100m breaststroke, as well as one silver medal and four bronze medals.
Olivia Wright, 13, came home with a haul of seven silver age group medals.
Ryan Dessens, 20, won gold in the open 200m breaststroke and claimed a silver in the 18-and-over 100m breaststroke.
Callum Moloney, 13, secured a silver medal and three bronze, and Bailey Harriden, 15, swam a personal best in the 100m butterfly and won a silver medal.
Many personal bests were swam by the Hawks, with the next key event on the calendar the upcoming Stage Age Short Course Championships.
