The Magpie small forward had a kick with the juniors from the Maiden Gully and Bears Lagoon-Serpentine football clubs.
Elliott said it was important for him to go out to regional towns and connect with younger players.
"I come from a little country town of Euroa and I used to go back there a fair bit. Now I feel like I can get back there and help out with the young kids more often," Elliott said.
"I love getting involved and helping out with the kids. We ran a few drills and taught them a few a things, but more importantly, it’s about having fun."
Elliott said he would continue to help out regional clubs in the future.
Bears coach Damian Featherby said part of the reason to get one of the AFL's most exciting players to the region was to encourage youngsters to continue to play the game.
He said it was important for Maiden Gully and Sepentine to work together to form a clear pathway for juniors.
"There is no amalgamation," Featherby said.
"But we need a bit of a pathway for the kids to come through because we only have under-17's.
"They get a bit short on numbers in the higher grades, so we thought we would bring the clubs together and build a few bridges."
Featherby said it was exciting for the aspiring players to have someone like Elliott spend time with them.
"The session was more for the under-14 players, to put them through some drills, there was a few questions, he talked to the kids about how the AFL works and what you have to do to achieve your dream," he said.
