Sporting her Bendigo-based team jersey, Hanson has made several appearances on the podium at professional cycling events in July and August.
The young gun took out sprint and overall honours at this month's Giordana Crossroads Classic, a series of four crits held in North Carolina, after winning the first two stages and crossing the line second in the final two.
"After the amount of racing I had been doing, I was tired but fast," Hanson said.
"I won every sprint in the first two races, which helped with overall and sprint classifications.
"Racing a crit in the pouring rain (in Statesville on day two) was definitely an experience. I was petrified but glad to finish upright and with all my skin!"
Hanson, from Kyneton, is riding in the US and Canada before taking up a cycling scholarship at Milligan College in Tennessee.
She performed consistently throughout the eight-stage Intelligentsia Cup Prairie State Cycling Series in Illinois from July 18-27, claiming third overall.
This included winning the Chicago Criterium, coming second at Waukegan, and taking 7th place at Lake Bluff in what was her best ever finish in a National Criterium Calendar event.
It has been a heavy schedule for the woman who won the Tour of East Gippsland in February and represented Victoria at the national track titles in Adelaide.
She kicked off July at BC Superweek in Canada, placing top 12 in competitive fields at the Gastown Grand Prix, Giro di Burnaby and stages of the Tour de Delta.
