Eden has been involved with the Filipino weapons-based martial arts for more than 10 years and has become one of Australia’s most elite athletes.
Eden won gold in the full contact heavyweight division at the Hungary championships.
He also won gold in the Sayaw.
Eden said it was a great achievement but said his proudest moment came when his two students also had success at the championships.
James Plowright won gold in the longstick and Shawn Butters won bronze in the double stick men’s heavyweight.
“World class athletes competed in Hungary,” Eden said.
“The feeling seeing your students do so well was fantastic.”
Eden said about 13 competitors from across Australia participated at the world titles.
“To have three of those come from Bendigo shows we have high quality athletes right here in the region.”
Eden hoped the achievements of his students and his own success would raise the profile of the sport in the region.
He said it was a sport people of all abilities could take up.
"I decided to continue with Eskrima because it is something you can continue at a mature level," Eden said.
"I teach people people who are aged between seven and 73."
Eden said he and his team would now be preparing for the Australian titles next year.
He said if anyone was interested in getting involved to contact him on 0413 284 610.
Training is conducted at the Park Road hall at the Tom Flood Sports Center.
