The "Food Boom Summit: Growing the Value Chain to Asia" event at the Foundry Hotel complex is an opportunity for central Victorian growers to network with Asian business people and learn about trade possibilities with countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.
The event comes in the wake of the state government's recent Super Trade Mission to South-East Asia.
Food Boom Summit organiser Martin Szakal attended the Super Trade Mission and said he met a Malaysian buyer who needed a 40-foot shipping container of lamb shoulders every week.
"The size of the market is much larger and has much stronger demands than we initially expected," Mr Szakal said.
The event will be launched at a dinner on July 31 also at the Foundry Hotel. Tickets at cvaf.webs.com.
