Ms Bird's work explores the use of printed maps versus today's GPS devices.
Maps first intrigued Ms Bird when her phone went flat one day.
"I had to rely on my Melways to get around Melbourne and I became intrigued with the appearance of maps," she said.
In one piece, she used a sewing machine to "drive" over roads on a map of Bendigo, creating a network of sewn lines.
"I hope viewers can bring their own personal experiences to the sections of Bendigo I’m exploring," she said.
