Dr Napthine said the facility would be the benchmark for emergency services training across the country.
“This emergency management hub will ensure our firefighters and the entire emergency management sector will have access to modern training facilities and infrastructure that will promote interoperability and allow each agency to grow and adapt to future demands,” Dr Napthine said.
It will cater for both volunteer and career emergency services personnel from agencies and departments including: MFB; CFA; Victoria Police; Ambulance Victoria; Victorian State Emergency Services (SES); and the Department of Environment and Primary Industries.
Dr Napthine said VEMTC was a project led and managed by the MFB, with the strong support of Major Projects Victoria.
