A BENDIGO animator is doing fantastic things with a new game he helped develop called The Forest.
It's always amazing and inspiring to learn of people who grew up in this city taking on the world and winning.
Michael Mellor and the team at Vancouver-based Endnight Games created their game The Forest and tested its popularity on the worldwide gaming community website Steam.
Within eight minutes the game sat on top of the best-seller list. Ten weeks after its debut, The Forest remained at number four on the list.
To put some perspective into the success of The Forest, Steam isn't a run-of-the-mill website for gamers. At 7.30pm on a Thursday night, there were 5,103,602 gamers on the site with 1,236,648 actually playing.
Michael Mellor and his team have hit the jackpot on a gaming site that generates serious traffic.
How fantastic to see another young person chasing his dreams around the world and finding success.
Michael's achievements should show other young Bendigo people that anything is possible if you are prepared to chase your dreams.
Well done Michael. Well done Endnight Games!
