In-front of a home crowd at the Bendigo Stadium, the Lady Braves won their 11th game of the SEABL season.
Led by Kerryn Harrington, the Lady Braves won 75-62.
Harrington scored a game-high 17 points, hauled down three rebounds and had two assists for the game.
The Lady Braves got out to a 24-point lead mid-way through the final quarter, but the Sabres managed to peg back the margin to 13.
Heather Oliver was also among the best for the Lady Braves, shooting 11 points.
Alex Bunton also scored 10 points from her 16 minutes of game time.
The win has now put the Lady Braves in first position on the southern conference ladder after 13 rounds.
They are a game clear of the second-placed Kilsyth.
Meanwhile, the Bendigo Braves have suffered their eighth loss of the season to the bottom of the table Sabres.
The Braves went down 82-75.
Coach Ben Harvey said it was a disappointing and frustrating result.
"We have won one of our last four games," he said.
"Our roller-coaster season is continuing."
Harvey said he couldn't understand how his team could play so well one week and not the next.
"I can't put my finger on it," he said.
"We can gel one week and then lose it the next game.
"We can't be thinking about what is going to happen in eight or nine weeks time.
"We just have to take it one week at a time."
Harvey said the one positive he took out of the game was the efforts of Jake Cowling.
"He scored eight points in his nine minutes of game time, which was a good sign for our future," he said.
"He played his role well and really took his opportunity."
Both Braves teams will now travel to Tasmania for a double-header.
