The Gliders flogged Peru 90-10.
Chaplin scored eight points and had two rebounds and five assists in the 80-point victory.
On Saturday, Australia was beaten 68-52 by the USA in its opening game of the tournament.
Chaplin - a three-time Paralympian - finished with two points, four assists and two rebounds in that game.
The Gliders have remaining games in the preliminary rounds against France, Mexico and Netherlands.
