These are some of the questions Bendigo Newcomers' hosts Michelle Scott and Helen Gobbe say they are familiar with, having helped welcome hundreds of people to the area during the past decade.
The group will celebrate its 10-year anniversary with a gala dinner on August 2 and is inviting past members to attend.
Bendigo Newcomers was officially incorporated in March 2005, but Mrs Scott and co-founder Karen Larkins started it in 2004.
"It's about sharing knowledge and local resources," Mrs Scott said.
Mrs Gobbe said the group put on a variety of regular social activities for different age groups and there was something for everyone.
"There's a lot buried in Bendigo," she said.
