Set on 1000 square metres on Victa Road in East Bendigo, owners Glenn and Denise Twitt have invested $2.6 million into their "sea change".
"It's been a lot of work and the biggest problem was the location," Mr Twitt said.
"Once we found this former Target warehouse we fully renovated it and started this business.
"It's a lot of money but I think it shows the commitment we have made to making this successful and safe."
Mr Twitt previously worked at his family business Ron Twitt Motors, which closed last year after 60 years of operation.
But the family business remains with Mr and Mrs Twitt employing son Jason to manage the centre.
Mr Twitt's grandchildren also had great input into the play centre, which includes a balloon room, interactive games, ball room, adventure apparatus and, of course, slides.
Some of the equipment is the first of its kind in Australia.
"The grandchildren have been pivotal," Mr Twitt said.
"We were always asking if they like this game or that and we took my five-year-old granddaughter to a lot of play centres. I wish I had all of this (when I was a kid). But I still get to play on it if I want."
