"Operation Unification" would focus on illicit firearms suspected by police of being used in criminal activity.
The effort will run from June 16 to 29.
The campaign comes as a number of local Bendigo arrests were made in recent weeks.
A man was charged with a number of weapons offences following an incident in Eaglehawk late last week.
Crime Command Assistant Commissioner Stephen Fontana said criminals had increased access to firearms.
"During the past 10 years in Victoria we have seen an increase in the number of prohibited persons detected possessing, carrying and using firearms," Assistant Commissioner Fontana said.
"There is also a trend in Victoria around firearm theft from rural properties, with some of these stolen firearms finding their way to criminals connected to the drug trade and organised crime."
