FC Bendigo will be aiming to continue its winning way when it tackles the bottom of the ladder Brunswick City in Saturday night's soccer match at Tom Flood Sports Centre.
After a 1-0 win on Kingston's turf last round, Bendigo is back at home for the National Premier League Victoria division one contest.
Bendigo goes into the match carrying the unfamiliar tag of favourites as it chases win number four.
Brunswick has racked up just three points from 11 games and is on the rebound from a 4-1 loss to Richmond.
FC Bendigo's playing coach Steve Martin is not worried about pre-game favouritism, insisting his side’s performance is what will count during the clash:
“Heading into games we don’t really worry too much about whether we are expected to win or we aren’t. This week we’ve got just as much chance of getting a result as every other week."
Bendigo’s win last week included the club’s first clean sheet.
Martin, who is part of an experienced back four, believes his side’s performance in the back half will be crucial again.
“We’ll be looking for a similar defensive effort this week”.
Young full-back Finn Huzzey, who was sidelined for last weekend’s match because of a hip flexor injury, will face a fitness test, but is expected to play.
The action on Bendigo's pitch in Barnard Street kicks off with the under-20s at 5pm. The senior clash starts at 7pm.
