The showdown will determine which performers go through to the live show, who needs a bit more work and who will be eliminated.
Lingard has already had a strong start to the talent show with performances of Vance Joy's Riptide, which got him a place on Team Kylie, and Counting Stars by One Republic.
"After the battle (against Tom Oliver) I wasn’t happy with it. I don’t feel like it was a good interpretation," Lingard said.
"I felt like I had to prove myself in a way. Even though I was already a singer-songwriter, the people on that show haven't seen me before.
"The showdown will be a good way to show people more of what I could do."
For the showdown Lingard has prepared a rendition of Death Cab For Cutie's I Will Follow You Into The Dark with help from INXS member Kirk Pengilly.
"Working with Kylie is great but working with Kirk is deifitely something that you don’t do every day," Lingard said.
"You could really tell (Kylie and Kirk) were friends and it was really relaxed, which made me feel really comfortable."
"Some many people would kill to be in my position. I'm, really grateful and humbled."
