Burglaries prompt call for help

CASTLEMAINE police are appealing for witnesses after three businesses in the town centre were burgled early Tuesday morning.

Sergeant Rohan Scott said cash was taken from a cafe, real estate agents and women's clothing store in Mostyn Street about 4am.

He said people who may have heard or seen any suspicious behaviour in the area in the early hours of Tuesday morning are urged to contact Castlemaine police on 5472 2099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The incidents follow two attempted burglaries in Sutton Grange at the weekend.

The Sutton Grange Tennis Club and the Sutton Grange CFA unit were both targeted by thieves between 4.30pm Saturday and 3pm Saturday.
