THE thoughts of Bendigo youngster Rachael Hamilton in a letter to Prime Minister Tony Abbott strike a chord with people of all ages in many pockets of the country.
At a time when the federal government is facing backlash from many quarters over Budget measures, Rachael has urged the PM to reconsider some views.
At age 10, Rachael has shown maturity beyond her years by writing about two issues which concern many.
No matter your political allegiance, asylum seekers and health are two issues which have dominated the landscape for many months.

Since the Budget was handed down by Treasurer Joe Hockey there's been plenty of jockeying for position to voice views.
It will be more than seven years before Rachael can vote, but her letter clearly shows she has thought a lot about what's happening on a large scale.
While many girls her age are bopping along to a One Direction hit, Rachael is being encouraged, not pushed, to think about what the government is doing.
More importantly, she has formed her own views - not what others tell her it should be.
We await Mr Abbott's response.
