After leading early in their match against Indiana Fever on Friday, the Sun lost their way in the second quarter and went down 65-79.
Connecticut has won just one of its five matches, rebounding from three straight losses to defeat Seattle Storm last weekend.
Griffin, who has won two WNBL grand final MVP trophies for Spirit, leads her team in rebounds with an average of 8.3 per match.
She has been less active on the scoreboard, shooting just four points last game and averaging less than six.
Number one draft pick Chiney Ogwumike has impressed early for the Sun.
She scored a team-high 18 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in Friday’s loss.
Connecticut now play east conference leader Chicago Sky on the road on Saturday morning local time. Sky won by 10 last time they met.
