Herbert posted a new course record at the weekend, scoring a six-under 65 to increase his lead in the second round of the club championship.
In the second round he hit one eagle, six birdies and two bogies.
Shane Muir is the closest to Herbert, he sits a massive 15 shots behind the leader.
Herbert is now on 11 under after two rounds of play.
The Ravenswood teen looks set to beat the record score in the three-round contest.
The 18-year-old is chasing his third consecutive club championship.
In the opening round he scored a five-under 66.
Herbert is set to tee-off for the third and final round at 12.49pm at Neangar Park Golf Club on Averys Road in Eaglehawk this Saturday.
