The women’s competiton has attracted some of the region’s best players.
The local competition will have an international flavour this season with new Lady Braves import LaSondra Barrett set to take to the court.
Back-to-back WNBL champions, the Bendigo Spirit has representatives in four of the five teams.
While players from the Lady Braves have also been selected in several of its teams.
WNBL All-Star five Gabe Richards will play with the Generals.
She will be joined by her Bendigo Spirit teammate and Lady Braves player Chantella Perera.
Perera is currently averaging 20.7 points in the SEABL this season.
Spirit players Chelsea Aubry, Heather Oliver and Jane Chalmers will play for the Beavers.
Kelly Wilson, who recently toured the United States with the Australian Opals team, will suit up with Strathfieldsaye.
Alex Bunton, a Canberra native, will play for the Aztec Tigers.
She joined the Lady Braves in 2014.
Bunton was also a part of the recent Opals training camp.
Games will be played at the Bendigo Stadium each Tuesday night.
The season began last night.
