THE Bendigo Community Autism Resource Centre has found a new home.
Twelve-year-old Mitchell Bourke, who has autism, raised $29,000 for the centre with Mitch's Autie Walk in March.
The money will be used to pay for a 12-month lease of the property at 1 Red Tank Road, Strathfieldsaye.
Mitchell's mum, Mychelle Bourke, said it had taken a lot of hard work to secure the property, but it was worthwhile.
She said the centre would be for people of all ages who were on the autism spectrum.
Ms Bourke said it would provide sensory and vegetable gardens as well as indoor activities.
"It will be life changing for so many families and it is going to make such a difference to our (autistic) community," she said.
"It is not only children who are going to benefit - it is also teenagers and adults.
"We are going to have programs that are going to teach the children skills that they can use as adults.
"I am excited, everyone is excited - Mitch is beside himself about the property."
Ms Bourke said the property spanned 12 acres and described it as a "little mini farm".
"It is fabulous," she said.
"It needs a bit of work but it is in a very safe location.
"There is a dirt track on one side and Red Tank Road is only for residents - so it is very quiet."
Ms Bourke said the property had chicken sheds and ample space to co-ordinate programs and activities.
She said the property needed work and encouraged people to lend a helping hand.
"It won't be functioning for about eight to 10 weeks," she said.
"We need a big call-out for building materials, plaster, an electrician and volunteers to help with cleaning up.
"It is all one step at a time and is only progressing slowly.
"At this point of time our priority is getting the centre looking beautiful."
