Having started the season 0-2, the Bears have won their past three games against the LVFL’s bottom three teams in Mitiamo, YCW and Inglewood.
The undefeated Pyramid Hill - which has only beaten the Bears once in their past five games - is second on the ladder and playing an attacking brand of football, averaging 124 points per game.
Coach Paul Grayling continues to dominate up forward for the Bulldogs, having kicked hauls of six, six, five and seven goals so far.
• Mitiamo’s season that started with plenty of optimism after its recruiting spree will quickly pass it by if it doesn’t start turning three quarter-time leads into wins.
The Superoos have now led three games at three quarter-time - including last week against Bears Lagoon-Serpentine - but are still winless.
It gets no easier for the Superoos on Saturday when they take on reigning premier Bridgewater for the Blue Ribbon Cup.
Bridgewater is 4-0 and on top of the ladder, but needed a strong final quarter last week to kick away from YCW and win by 24 points.
• Calivil United will pay tribute to the past when it plays its annual game at Raywood against Marong.
The Demons are coming off their biggest loss for more than 20 years when beaten by 116 points by Pyramid Hill last week in a game where they were already 56 points down at quarter-time.
Fourth-placed Marong - which had the bye last week - has only beaten Calivil United seven times in 41 meetings since 1995, but has started the long-haul of squaring that ledger, having won the past three clashes between the sides.
• Newbridge - fresh from 15 goals by Rhys Ford in a 193-point win over Inglewood last week - hosts YCW, which, despite only having one win, has shown it’s a side that shouldn’t be taken lightly.
