Popple who began playing with the club 12 years ago, marked the milestone with a 29 goal victory over Bridgewater in the Loddon Valley Netball League C-reserve game on Saturday afternoon.
Popple, the captain of the team, began playing with the Eagles when she was 12-years-old.
YCW life member and under-17 coach Nicole Donnellon said Popple is a versatile player that could play at either ends of the court.
“Melissa has concentrated on being a key goaler for the YCW C-grade and C-Reserves teams over the past few seasons,” she said.
“Melissa has been part of a very successful era at YCW winning many premierships across the grades she has played.”
Popple has also received some personal accolades and awards, winning back-to-back best and fairest trophies in the 17 and under competition.
She also captained the 17 and under team to its first premiership in club history in 2007.
“In 2010 she won the C-grade best and fairest, 2013 she was runner up in the league best and fairest for the C-reserves team as well as winning the club best and fairest,” Donnellon said.
Popple’s twin sisters Hannah and Abbey have also joined YCW.
Together they have amassed more than 400 games.
“Melissa and her sisters are amazing contributors on and off the court for the club,” Donnellon said.
The Eagles are sitting in second place on the C-reserve ladder.
This week they will play Newbridge at Riverside Park.
