The centre-court veteran will play her 150th club game this weekend, when the Bulldogs host Eaglehawk at home on Sunday afternoon.
Marrone played 96 matches for Kangaroo Flat from 1996-2002, so she is on track to notch up 250 BFNL games next month.
Just last month, the 35-year-old passed another benchmark when she led Golden Square to victory over Strathfieldsaye in her 50th outing as coach of the A-grade side.
Her achievements at the club include A-grade premierships in 2008 and 2011.
Marrone, affectionately known as "Mash" to her team-mates, said she could hardly believe she had reached the 150-game mark at Square already
"Time really does fly when you are having fun," she said.
She began playing netball at Gravel Hill Primary in 1988 and was a regular member of Strathdale association representative sides.
She also represented the North Central region at 17-under level.
Marrone won premierships and best-and-fairest trophies at Kangaroo Flat before moving to White Hills in the Heathcote league for two seasons, claiming two more grand finals.
Golden Square team-mate Kath Basilewsky said Marrone was a skilled player and respected leader.
"Lia applies immense pressure on her opponents. In defence, she dictates play and works hard to contain her player. She drives hard at the ball in attack and is consistently accurate with her delivery."
Marrone's plans for her milestone match are simple.
"I hope to make it through the game and come away with a win," she said.
