About 50 stallholders will set up shop at the Good Loaf this Sunday from 10am to 2pm.
Market co-founder Shona O'Brien said the initiative was designed to showcase the creative talents of central Victorians.
"We've had an influx of applications from makers," she said.
"We actually had a couple of very random ones that we didn't expect.
"We've had a chocolate artisan.
"She makes shoes and buttons and things out of chocolate.
"We also have the man who does segmented wood making or turning.
"He makes vases and all sorts of beautiful things out of little segments of wood."
Ms O'Brien is calling for more makers to sign up for future markets and showcase their wares.
"I just wonder how many other people out there in the community are making things and they just don't think they have somewhere to showcase it," she said.
"Obviously we have a criteria where we can't accept everyone, because we have a standard for the market, but it would just be really interesting to find out more about what's out there in the community.
"I'd love to know if there's any more uni students out there who are really creative and don't do anything with their stuff they make at home.
"This is an opportunity to earn money.
"Applications for our May market have closed but we have applications open to June.
"We've increased our stalls this month and we'll have community performers."
The market is the brainchild of Ms O'Brien and Linda Whillance.
The two good friends wanted something new and different to do on a Sunday.
"We just realised that there wasn't much to do in Bendigo," Ms Whillance said.
"We have a stallholders' criteria so we can ensure the products we sell are of the best quality - innovation, quality, individuality, locality and sustainability."
