After six rounds the Roos sit on top of the ladder, they are the only undefeated team left in the league and boast a healthy percentage of almost 200 per cent.
However, Hobbs says there were still some things the team could improve on.
“We don’t take any game lightly,” she said.
“This year we have been putting in some new strategies, so we are still continuing to improve.
“The team trains hard and everyone is working hard.
“I am really happy with how we have started the season.”
Kangaroo Flat defeated South Bendigo by 31 goals at the Queen Elizabeth Oval courts on Saturday afternoon.
“We played well in difficult conditions,” Hobbs said.
“We played good netball over four quarters.”
Hobbs said it was important for the team to continue to put pressure on their opposition and increase their leading margin after each quarter.
“I am really strict on that,” she said.
“We had a good start, but we are working on pushing on.
“We aim for at least 15 goals a quarter.
“It is important to finish strong and have a good percentage, especially when it comes to the end of the season.”
Golden Square also got back on the winners list after defeating Maryborough.
However the 19-goal win has come at a price, with shooter Lucy Morcom injuring her ankle in the late stages of the opening quarter.
Bulldogs coach Lia Marrone said she was pleased with how the girls handled themselves in the wet and slippery conditions.
“The score line was not indicative of how tough the game actually was,” she said.
“We got a good start which made a big difference.
“I'm happy with how the whole team played, they didn't really seem to notice that it was wet.”
Golden Square has unearthed a star shooter, with Abbey Ryan slotting into the team.
“Abbey Ryan in goals was also in the best players,” she said.
“I have been very impressed with how she has been playing.
“Abbey has proven herself to be a real asset to the side and plays with maturity and skill that is well beyond her 15 years of age.”
Marrone also praised her defence line, Allira Holmes and Meg Gilbert.
Maryborough co-coach Laura Hurse said the girls couldn’t wrestle back the momentum.
“They beat us considerably,” she said.
“They had a big lead from the start, at one stage it was 20 to 4.
“We had some positional changes, but they outplayed us. They gelled well together and they didn’t allow us to get into the game.
“Plus we didn’t take the most of our opportunities.”
In other games Kyneton, continued its winning ways, when they defeated Strathfieldsaye by 17 goals on Saturday.
The final score was 38 to 21.
Gisborne also had a big win over Eaglehawk, the final score 53 to 28.
Sandhurst also defeated Castlemaine on Sunday afternoon.
The final score was 42 to 26.
