The group is earmarked to receive $300,000 towards construction of its respite/community house at McKenzie Hill in Castlemaine, as per a pre-election promise.
MASARG president Steve Streeter said the group had been busy filling out all the relevant paper work.
"We're hoping that they'll come good with their promise of $300,000," he said.
"They released three or four things they were going to fund so we've working with the government with our application for the funding.
"It's been a very busy time."
Earth works have been completed at the site and the group has raised about $900,000 to go towards the $1.2 million project.
"So that $300,000 will make up a much-needed balance of the funds," Mr Streeter said.
"If the Liberal Party say they're going to pay us the money we can virtually sign a building contract, almost straight away.
"We would hope to have the property well and truly underway before the end of this year."
The facility will accommodate people with a disability and will be accessible seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day.
"It will be a massive change for the carers giving them a chance to have a break," Mr Streeter said.
Donations can be made via PO Box 466, Castlemaine, Vic. 3450.
