The 19-year-old will steer the Magpies through their first season in the Bendigo Junior Football League, which kicks off this weekend.
Maryborough takes on 2013 runners-up Huntly on home turf at Princes Park at 2.40pm on Sunday.
Coghlan, who previously played netball for Avoca and represented the Maryborough-Castlemaine league, is no stranger to footy.
Her dad Michael was a star at Avoca in the mid-1980s and her brothers Nick and Nathan have played for Avoca and St Arnaud.
