The Eaglehawk Town Hall, Eaglehawk Citizen's Club, the Old Courthouse, and mail boxes and fences along Kirkwood Road were defaced with purple spray paint.
Sergeant Terry O'Brien said the Eaglehawk boy, aged 15, would appear in court at a later date.
He said vandalism would not be tolerated.
"Graffiti is a really random thing that happens," he said.
"It rears its ugly head every now and then.
"We try to get on to it as quick as we can.
"It looks shocking and defaces town areas."
