The Condo’s Horse Transport ‘Legends of Bendigo’ Raceday will celebrate some of the iconic names in Bendigo racing over the past 50 years.
"This is the first of what is planned to be an annual event," BJC chief executive officer Ian Hart said.
"Each year the club will recognise the deeds of the well known racing identities from Bendigo, together with their best known horses and will provide the opportunity to celebrate their achievements with family members and the racing public."
The inaugural ‘Legends of Bendigo’ include:
• George Daniels and Sailor’s Guide;
• Kevin Wynne and Bunratty Castle;
• George Symons and Fontein;
• Jack Hearps and Star Pyramul;
• Tom Torpy and Donbredean;
• Bonnie Bland and Man’A’Million;
• the Rawiller Family
"All of these names are synonymous with thoroughbred racing in Bendigo and have contributed to the wonderful history of horse racing in the region," Hart said.
The Nursery of Champions in White Hills is where many of Bendigo's top jockeys and trainers started their careers or continued to be based there.
"Our company is proud to be associated with the event," said Garry Condon from Condo’s Horse Transport.
"Condo's Horse Transport has a strong client base in the region and we are proud to play our part in honouring some of the greats of Bendigo."
