Her commitment to fundraising organisations, including Relay for Life and the Fight Cancer Foundation, goes beyond the average person.
Most recently, Ms Cugura helped her team, the Rainbow Warriors, raise $16,000 for Bendigo's Relay for Life.
She said the team was started seven years ago by her friend Michelle King, who tragically passed away from bowel cancer two years ago.
"We wanted to continue to excite the fight in her honour," she said.
"It is something she started and loved, and we will continue for a long time."
As team captain, Ms Curgura set up a pop up opportunity shop in the lead up to the relay in an effort to raise as much money as possible.
"We had it open for about three months," she said.
"It was a good way to raise money."
Ms Cugura said she would take part in the Peter McCallum 60 kilometre walk.
"I am just really passionate about it," she said.
"While I can I wanted to continue the fundraiser.
"The research costs a lot of money and without it, we would have no hope of finding a cure."
