Bendigo Relay for Life chair manager Rob Kean said he was proud of the efforts of the 74 teams who participated in the 21-hour event.
"It has a been a really successful relay," he said at Saturday's closing ceremony.
"I am quite chuffed."
Cancer survivors, medical professionals, family and friends walked around the La Trobe University Athletics Track from 5.45pm on Friday to 3pm on Saturday.
Lisa Kean, from Team Tiana, said she was tired but the lack of sleep was worth it.
"The atmosphere keeps you going," she said.
"It is a great cause - one that everyone gets behind."
Ms Kean said she was walking in memory of her cousin, Tiana, who passed away five years ago from Neuroblastoma.
She said Tiana was nine years old at the time of her death.
"This is the eighth year (the team has participated in Relay for Life," she said.
"Tiana got to take part the first year we did it.
"I think she would be very proud."
Ms Kean said the team had raised about $2000.
"We always want more but every bit helps," she said.
"At least we are doing something.
"It's better than sitting on the couch."
A number of awards were presented at the closing ceremony.
Rainbow Warriors raised $16,061 - the most of any team at the Bendigo relay.
Teams to raise more than $5000 included the Road Runners, Strategem, Women of Note, Team Justice, Terri's Troupe, the Bravehearts, Team Spirit and Grease Lightning.
The award for the best-themed team went to the Bravehearts, while the award for the best-dressed tent site went to Terri's Troupe.
Terri's Troupe also won the best baton.
Girton Grammar School won the best youth/school team award and the best candle display went to Caring Carers.
Team Believe won the Pam Quin Award and the Michelle King Award went to the Rainbow Warriors.
Mr Kean said he wanted to thank the relay committee, the team captains and all those who participated.
"I want to say thank you to everyone on the committee," he said.
"You know who you are and what you have done.
"Thanks to all the team captains and team members.
"Everyone has done a great job."
