YOUNG hurdler Scott Johnson scored an impressive golden double on the track at the Victorian little athletics state championships last weekend.

Racing in the under-11 age group, the Bendigo star showed the field a clean set of heels as he won the 80m hurdles on Saturday, then backed up on Sunday to take out the 60m hurdles, breaking the 10-second barrier.
Middle distance runners Ben Powell and Luke Padgham were also in outstanding form over the carnival, earning selection in the Victorian under-13 squad.
Powell brought home silver in the 800m and bronze in the 400m, while Padgham won bronze behind his clubmate in the 800m and was also third in the 1500m.
The pair are among 11 boys and 11 girls selected in the coveted little athletics state team that will contest the Australian under-13 championship in Melbourne on May 3, vying for the Trevor Billingham Trophy in the teams event.
Other Bendigo athletes to win medals at the state titles included the multi-talented Imogen Sexton, who picked up silver in the under-15 triple jump and bronze in the discus; thrower Bree Heiden, who was second in the under-13 javelin; and Lachie Johnson, who finished third in the under-14 90m hurdles.
Kyneton thrower Tyson Stanley had a superb championships, winning the under-14 shot put and adding silver in the discus, while fellow Kyneton member Jack O'Sullivan proved his class in the sprint by taking out the under-9 70m race.
Noah O'Flaherty, from Cohuna, rounded out medal winners from the region with his bronze in the under-12 400m.
