Playing at the Lakes Resort Pauanui course in New Zealand, Wearne and his Australian teammates won the match by four games to two.
It was the fifth time the two countries have met.
The winner was determined over a six four-ball best-ball matches.
In the final match of the competition, New Zealand pair Craig Owen and Chris Treen had to defeat Wearne and his partner David Merriman.
Treen made a birdie on the par five 15th hole and then sunk a 15 foot putt on the 16th hole to put pressure on the Aussie duo, however Merriman sunk his putt to help the Australians hold onto the lead heading into the 17th hole.
On the 18th and final hole the Australian pair managed to rally and hold off their opponents to secure the win.
The tournament will be held in New Zealand again next year.
