The Epsom teenager's West Texas A&M University team dominated Florida-based Nova Southeastern University in the semi-final on Thursday, scoring a convincing 80-66 victory.
Wild did not make it onto the court during the match, but mum Carolyn said she had averaged about 10 minutes a game for the Lady Buffs, which was an unusual feat for a freshman in her first year.
West Texas A&M, from the city of Canyon, has now won 32 of its 34 games this season.
This is its first NCAA final appearance since 1988.
Mrs Wild said her husband Ray was in the US watching their daughter play and saw her score four points in her side's quarter-final win earlier in the week.
Wild, 19, played for Generals in the Bendigo Basketball Association and was a regular member of Victorian junior teams.
She has been involved with the Bendigo Lady Braves development side and trained with Bendigo Spirit.
The Lady Buffs play Bentley University, from Massachusetts, in the play-off on Friday night (Saturday local time) at Erie Insurance Arena, in Pennsylvania.
