The 25-year-old was third in the 25-29 class in the Brighton round of Victoria's prestigious event.
This Sunday he will be racing in a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run at St Kilda.
A big summer of racing has incluced hit-outs at Shepparton and Echuca.
Meade said a highlight was winning the open title in the Bendigo Tri Club's championship.
He powered away on the 5.5km run after doing a 500m swim and 20km cycle in Eaglehawk.
"To win the club title was a big honour," Meade said.
Another Meade, David features on the club's list many times.
"David is a club legend."
Nathan and David are not related.
After a decade away from triathlons to focus on football, Nathan Meade decided to return to the three-discipline format this season.
Fitness was there through a lot of running in matches and pre-season with Sandhurst.
"A big focus was on cycling. It's the leg where you can gain or lose the most time."
A major goal is the Mooloolaba half-ironman triathlon in mid-September. The classic is 1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 21km run.
When not training, Meade is busy at work at National Tiles.
Nathan Meade has great support from parents Shane and Shiree, siblings Xavier, Elle and Sophie, and his girlfriend Kelsey Sartori, who is playing for the Bendigo Lady Braves.
