Fans will see some new faces for the Braves with young guns Alex Bunton and Lachlan Urwin raring to go.
Bunton, a 196cm centre who played with the WNBL’s Canberra Capitals, says she is excited for Saturday’s game.
“I want to help Bendigo win,” she declared.
“I knew that coming to Bendigo I would have a great coach, there is also such a great basketball community here.
"I want to expand my basketball knowledge.”
Twenty-year-old Urwin said he couldn’t wait to show the Bendigo community what he and his teammates had been working on.
“I am very excited for Saturday night,” he said.
Urwin said the Braves have continued to build each week leading into the first game.
“The players just want to get better," he said.
"We have a really good culture and we are all really looking forward to the hit-out on Saturday.
“We have short-term and long-term goals.
"We know where we want to be on the table, it is all about going from week to week, focusing on the opponent and playing as a team.”
The Braves are encouraging fans to pack out Bendigo Stadium on Saturday.
The team is offering one lucky fan the chance to win a trip for two to Los Angeles.
All you have to do is be at the Stadium.
The winner will win five nights accomodation, the chance to watch an NBA game or go to Universal Studios and Disneyland.
The Lady Braves will face Brisbane at 6pm before the Braves play at 8pm.
