Congratulations to the Bendigo Spirit on winning their second WNBL title in a row.
It is extremely hard to repeat as title winners when every other team is hungry and hunting you.
It's a fantastic achievement.
I heard that it was a packed house and the atmosphere was electric.
It was a really tough week on the court for the Cavs, losing three games.
The San Antonio Spurs beat us 122-101.
The Spurs are a class team as they have been for the past 10-15 years.
They have everyone back healthy and are looking like they are going to make another deep run into the play-offs.
My Boomers team-mate Patrick Mills has been in great form and had a really good game against us as well.
Another Boomer, Aron Baynes looks to be in really good shape as well.
The Charlotte Bobcats were too good for us on the road, 101-92.
This was a costly loss for us as they are one of the teams we are chasing for a play-off spot.
The next night the Knicks took us down, 107-97.
This was another costly loss as the Knicks have the same record as us and are trying to make a run to the play-offs.
The night before the San Antonio game I had Patty, Baynesy and Boomers head coach Andrej Lemanis, pictured, over for dinner.
I cooked up some spaghetti bolognese and made a salad.
I think they liked it because there wasn’t any leftovers.
It was great to catch up with them and see how things are going with them and the Spurs.
Andrej was around for another day and we had a really good chance to discuss what the Boomers plans are and the upcoming World Cup in Spain.
These are exciting times for the Boomers.
We have a talented group that is really committed to doing something special, and that is to win a medal against the world's best.
Our first game of group play is in Gran Canaria on August 30.
We have Lithuania, Angola, Korea, Slovenia and Mexico in our group.
Congratulations to Zydrunas Ilgauskas, a former Cleveland Cavaliers player for 12 seasons who had his number 11 jersey retired at half-time of the game against the New York Knicks.
“Big Z”, as he is affectionately known in Cleveland is a fan favourite.
Many former players and coaches were in attendance.
The Cavaliers really put on a great show to commemorate his achievements.
Thanks for the support everyone, I really appreciate it.
Have a good week.
These are exciting times for the Boomers
