Dual AFL Coleman medallist Fevola will line up for the Roos in their Bendigo Football League Good Friday clash with the Bulldogs at Beck Legal Oval.
Dale Young and recruit Lachlan Woodward shape as the two most likely Golden Square players to get the first crack at Fevola, who kicked 623 goals in 204 AFL games with Carlton and Brisbane.
"It's good that Fev is getting out into country footy and helping clubs to create some interest," Carter said on Thursday.
"In terms of what that will mean for us on game day, it's going to be a great challenge for someone... whether that be Dale Young or Lachie Woodward, we'll wait to size that up.
"It's obviously going to be a bit of a spectacle and there will be a lot of people there, which will be great for the community.
"We're looking forward to it."
The Good Friday game featuring Fevola is scheduled to start at 5.30pm.
Kangaroo Flat will hold a range of entertainment events at the Good Friday game, with plans for Fevola to help run a pre-game Auskick clinic.
Fevola's AFL career ended in 2010, with the 33-year-old now playing for Yarrawonga in the Ovens and Murray Football League.
He is also coaching the O and M inter-league team this year.
Meanwhile, Golden Square has begun to step up its preparation for the season with a practice match against the Bendigo Gold on Thursday night.
The Bulldogs, who have won the past five premierships, will also play practice matches against Goulburn Valley Football League clubs Mooroopna (March 15) and Shepparton United (March 22).
"The season is coming around quickly, so we're now into that four-to-five week window where it really starts to step up," Carter said.
Golden Square plays Strathfieldsaye at Flight Centre Park on Sunday, April 6 in its first game.
