Next week Wilson will attempt to defend his Australian Open singles crown in Melbourne, while next month he'll spearhead the Australian development squad in its trans-Tasman battle with New Zealand in Traralgon.
Wilson will play singles and skipper the triples for the Australian development squad.
"Commonwealth Games 2018 on home soil (Gold Coast) is my major goal... but if I can bowl well in the next few weeks you never know,'' Wilson said of his chances of playing in Glasgow this year.
"The Australian squad for this year's Commonwealth Games would be pretty tough to get into.
"There's a lot of good players around, so being picked for the Australian development squad is a good start.
"To be picked in this squad by the Australian selectors gives me the chance to keep my name in front of them."
This summer Wilson has led Brighton to top spot on the Metropolitan Premier Division ladder.
"The bowl is coming out of my hand really well at the moment,'' Wilson said.
"I've got to make sure I keep my intensity up and make sure I have the right attitude every game I play.
"At Brighton we don't have a lot of big name players, but we mix really well and we play well as a team.
"It's only our second season up in the premier league, so we're doing well."
Wilson is also attempting to qualify for the fours at the Australian Open.
Aaron's brothers Nathan and Cameron, who play pennant for Essendon in Melbourne, are playing alongside him in the fours.
"It would be great if we could get through,'' he said.
