WEDDERBURN couple Diane and Paull Gordon-Cooke have been touched by the heart-warming response to news about the release of Let Your Angel Fly.
The track was written and recorded by Melbourne musician John Trager who was touched by Diane and Paull's son Blake's story.
Blake had heart complications and was just 19-months-old when he passed away in September last year.
Songwriter Mr Trager heard about the toddler's journey and wrote a song, having never met Blake or his family, to be played at his celebration of life.
"I read the story about Blake on Facebook and it just broke my heart to see how emotionally exhausting it was for the family, Diane and Paull to go through," Mr Trager said.
Let Your Angel Fly will be released on iTunes this Saturday with proceeds to go to HeartKids.
Diane has her fingers-crossed central Victorian residents will support its release.
"Apparently it depends on how well it does in the first week to whether it gets in the charts," she said.
"If it got in the charts the publicity for HeartKids would be amazing."
Diane and Paull shared Blake's story with the Bendigo Advertiser last weekend.
"Channel Ten picked it up after the Bendigo Advertiser published it on the front page so the exposure has been fantastic," Diane said.
"People have asked me what we get out of it - it's nothing and everything in a way.
"There's nothing personally than knowing Blake's life will never, ever have been in vain if we can help other little kids."
