The team, known as Loddon Valley United, will take to the filed for the first time this season.
LVU interim president Adam Bish said the young players were chomping at the bit for round one.
“We only just confirmation of the new club,” he said.
“Everyone is looking forward to just getting started.
“The kids just want to play footy.
Bish said the new club would have teams in the under-12, under-14 and under-16 competitions.
He said local families were excited to have a pathway for young aspiring footballers in the region.
Last year youngsters played for Calivil United, however there was only one under-14 team.
“Players were having to travel to Bendigo to play in under-12 or under-16 teams,” Bish said.
“The young players were playing for teams like Golden Square in the under-12s and then coming back to play for Calivil in the under-14s and then going back to Bendigo for the under-16s.
“The teams were not gelling. “Now there is a clear pathway.”
Bish said players will also now have the chance to play against age-appropriate teams.
He said the club had a real country atmosphere to it.
“It is very much a family orientated club,” Bish said.
The club has already attracted players and coaches however teams are yet to be finalised.
The 2014 season fixture is yet to be announced however Bish says the club will play their home games at the Raywood Recreation Reserve and the rest in Bendigo.
Loddon Valley United is holding a public meeting on Sunday for anyone interested in playing or sponsoring the club.
The meeting will be held at the Raywood Hotel at 1pm.
The club will also hold their Annual General Meeting on February 23.
