Bendigo Beer made the most of the annual countdown by teaming up with the new owner and head chef of the Cambrian Hotel, Andrew Carswell for a tap takeover.
There was a range of local craft beers on offer including an outside bar staffed by the new Bendigo brewery Brookes, to entice the punters who came to listen to the countdown.
Mr Carswell said it went well.
“Bendigo Beer approached us about the party and we thought it would be good. We are about providing local beer and food, it is what we like.
“We have gone through a couple of kegs.”
Brookes Beer sales manager Euan Bayliss said it was a good day.
“It has been going really well and everyone likes the beer,” he said.
“The music has been good although there were a couple early on that I think probably could have been higher.”
Josh White, who was attending the party, said it was very good.
“It has been a great day.
"I saw it on Facebook and I thought I would come and meet people, and there has been good music.”
Lauren Kearns said she had been listening to Triple J all day.
“It’s been good, listening to the tunes,” she said.
“I guess Lorde will be in the top 20.”
