A driver failed to give way about 11.30pm, hitting another car and causing extensive damage to the White Hills Fish Shop.
Bendigo Sergeant Daryl Costelow said a female in her early 20s was taken to Bendigo Base Hospital.
White Hills Fish Shop manager Rae Baker said it was lucky no one was seriously injured.
“There was damage to both cars,” she said.
“The driver didn’t think it was a main highway and didn’t see the give way signs.”
Mrs Baker said part of the take-away shop had been fenced off due to the accident.
She said concerned residents in the area had been petitioning to get traffic lights put up at the intersection for many years.
“Hopefully after this accident something will get done,” Mrs Baker said.
“Maybe the next accident won’t be so lucky.
“What more needs to happen?”
Mrs Baker said she had seen a number of car collisions and road incidents at the intersection over the years.
“It is a bad intersection,” she said.
“Trucks and cars try to edge out onto the highway all the time.
“I have seen trucks just miss cars and cars catch fire.”
Mrs Baker said traffic lights would be the safest solution for residents.
