The judging panel for the awards, proudly sponsored by Bendigo Bank and WIN Television, will meet on Monday.
The November winner/s will join AFL star Joel Selwood, September; NBA player Matthew Dellavedova and netball ace Caitlin Thwaites, October; in the race for the top honour.
Selwood’s season for Geelong included selection in the All-Australian team.
Thwaites led Australia’s attack in the win against Malawai.
Maryborough-raised Dellavedova made it into basketball’s biggest league with Cleveland Cavaliers.
Duryea won the road race and criterium at the Victorian Open in Bendigo.
On the boxing circuit, Brad Quinn marked his return from a 27-year break to win silver in the super heavyweight division at the Australian Masters Games in Geelong.
Bendigo Pedders Racing was the class D champion in the Australian Manufacturers Championship. The team raced in a Toyota 86.
Sarah Alexander won the women’s physique title, and Danny McQuinn was runner-up in the under-85kg title at the national bodybuilding titles.
Tayla Vlaeminck was selected to represent Victoria at the national under-15 girls’ cricket championships being played in Sydney.
