The 19-year-old is a fan of Justin Bieber and was planning to see the pop singer in concert when he toured the country, however due to the accident she now can’t go.
Her story has attracted world-wide attention with a Twitter hashtag trending across the globe.
Friends and strangers from Australia and beyond have come together tweeting #JustinVisitKate in a bid to get Justin Bieber’s attention.
Fans are hoping the ‘Believe’ singer can take time out of his busy Australian tour and visit the fan in hospital.
On Thursday an Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the female driver had been taken to Heathcote Hospital and flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
The spokesperson said she was in a serious but stable condition.
She suffered leg and pelvic injuries.
Two female passengers also aged 19, were also taken to Bendigo Hospital.
One of them was later transferred to Melbourne in a critical but stable condition and the other was discharged with minor injuries.
The vehicle hit a large tree and the force of the crash split the trunk of the tree in two.
Justin Bieber is touring Australia later this month.
He is performing at Rod Laver Arena on December 2 and 3.
