Mr Bull is soon to retire from the Victorian police force after a decorated career which spanned almost 40 years.
BJC chief executive officer Ian Hart said Mr Bull, a former superintendent of the Bendigo region, is a welcome addition to the club.
"The wealth of knowledge and skills that Peter will bring to the role, together with his outstanding relationship and operational talents, will be of incredible value to the club,'' Mr Hart said.
"We know he will be an integral part of our future success."
In his various senior operational roles with Victoria Police, Mr Bull was the commander for major sporting events, including the Melbourne Cup carnival, Australian Grand Prix and AFL grand final.
Mr Bull will start his new role at the BJC in the lead-up to the spring carnival.
"I hope to assist the club as it expands its recent impressive achievements and reputation as Victoria's leading regional racing club,'' Mr Bull said.
"I am excited by the growth in events such as the Bendigo Cup, Golden Mile Premier Saturday meeting and Mosstrooper Steeplechase day which I know will also further highlight Bendigo as a major event city.
"I look forward to again working with the wonderful people of Bendigo."
