Organiser Alf Thorpe encouraged aspiring singers in the region to take part.
Mr Thorpe said the singing competition, run as part of the Eaglehawk Dahlia and Arts Festival, had attracted some good talent over the years. Contestants will perform in front of an audience as well as three judges, competing for a $500 cash prize from the judges and an audience prize of $250.
“It is open to all singers 14 years and over, whatever music genre; it can be pop, soprano or country and western, it doesn’t matter,” Mr Thorpe said.
Auditions will be held at the California Gully Mechanics Institute on March 2 with finalists then performing at Eaglehawk Secondary College at a later date.
Audition forms are available from Travel World Bendigo, Bags on Williamson or Alf Thorpe on 0411 540 547. Entries close on February 27.
