I would like to thank all of those who volunteered to help get our community back on its feet.
Those from interstate who travelled here or extended their stay in the area to help out.
The groups, clubs, pubs and individuals who donated money, resources or time.
Those in government departments, local, state and federal, who went beyond their normal duties to deliver good outcomes.
The ones who baked food and the groups that ran barbecues to feed the volunteers.
And I would like to thank all of the businesses that donated produce, equipment and expertise.
I would especially like to thank those individuals that have contributed so much to the recovery effort over the past two years, working behind the scenes to get funding, helping those in need and putting on community events.
This week is a time to reflect on not what happened, but on how far we have come as a community.
Cr Leigh Wilson,
